Today’s newsletter marks the end of the first six months in 2013. These six months have been busy and productive with our company achieving elite partner status with Microsoft and growing our SAP Sybase license sales with the help of Allan.   We would like to share details about the Tampa Bay “Fast 50” finalist award that we just received, as well as welcoming our newest team member Bob Barker. We Are a Finalist for the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s “Fast 50”

Dobler Consulting is proud to announce it is a finalist in the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s “Fast 50”. The Fast 50 consists of the 50 fastest growing, privately-held businesses in the Tampa Bay area. Our consulting practice has achieved consecutive annual revenue growth for the last 3 years. “We are honored to be chosen as one of the finalists among our revenue growth peers in the Tampa Bay Area,” says Peter Dobler. “We are pleased to be part of such an esteemed group of local businesses.”

The criteria for the TBBJ's 2013 Fast 50 award are:

  • The company must be privately held and owned and headquartered in Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk or Sarasota counties.
  • The company must have had consecutive annual revenue growth from 2010 to 2012.
  • The company must have been in operation since 2009 or prior.
  • The company must have had annual  revenue of at least $1 million 2012.

At the 2013 Fast 50 Awards Luncheon, the newspaper will reveal the ranking order of the list. The event is scheduled for July 18 at 11:15 a.m. at the A La Carte Event Pavilion in Tampa.

Dobler Consulting welcomes Bob Barker

Bob 007-200Bob Barker, our Senior Database Consultant has joined our team as of June, 2013 in a full time position. In previous years, Bob worked for Dobler Consulting on various projects in a sub-contractor role. He comes to us with a wealth of solid, in-depth database experience, with a track record of 30 years in technology, and a strong focus on SAP Sybase and Microsoft SQL Server.

Peter says, “I met Bob while we were both at Nielsen Media Research. He was a senior database administrator in the group I managed, where we worked together on a variety of projects. Bob has excellent problem-solving skills, and executed all types of IT tasks. We are thrilled to have someone with Bob’s background and expertise.” After his work at Nielsen, Bob worked for J.P. Morgan Chase in the Trading Systems Group, traveling globally, working in India, Singapore, London and Glasgow on SAP Sybase and Microsoft SQL Server issues for the Bank.

In his new role at Dobler, Bob will be teaching our new training course “SAP Sybase ASE Quickstart for Oracle DBAs”, solving performance problems for clients onsite and remotely, and mentoring clients on best practices for database performance improvement.

Bob says, “Working with Dobler Consulting allows me the opportunity to participate in a variety of tasks from teaching and mentoring; to solving emergency situations; to overall system planning; to smoothly executing a major software upgrade. The work changes constantly while working at different companies, who have different issues and different personalities. There is a chance to teach someone at these companies to 'be a hero' and 'save the day'.
