He is an accomplished Sybase and Oracle DBA himself with more than 25 years of experience. His expertise is recognized with published expert articles and reports in International publications (ISUG), as well as video interview appearances at Sybase.

Peter Dobler was born and raised in Switzerland. He started his professional career more than twenty five years ago in software development.

Rob Hendershot area of study in college concentrated on applied mathematics and biology which lead him to working on the early application of computers and data management to the study of biology. Applying his educational background to database technology has allowed his own unique approach to solving many of today’s technical performance issues, by better integrating both physical and logical aspects of building scalable, easily managed sustainable performance database systems.

He has fulfilled this strength in the technical arena working with the Department of Treasury, IBM, Sybase, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Life Technologies, SAIC Government and Corporate Systems, Wells Fargo, and other companies in the financial, life science, and manufacturing industries in building and managing databases from the storage system up. Nowadays as many of these company’s database systems are moving beyond a terabyte in size, and more into a federated system integration approach, Rob has the ability and experience to help address both physical and logical performance design and maintenance needs which are more important than ever before to ensure capable and scalable database systems.

Jean-Pierre Dareys is a versatile IT professional with experience in the installation and maintenance of computer equipment, programming and managing client resources. His experience includes database design and administration, consulting, training, technical support, pre-post sales of products and services, lecturing at international conferences, and participating in the creation and maintenance of global heterogeneous, distributed and replicated systems.

Jean-Pierre has worked with Sybase technologies for more than twenty years, including a decade as a Sybase, Inc. employee in New York City, and has extensive experience with products including Sybase ASE, Replication Server, Open Switch and Sybase IQ. He has worked in all types of industries, such as consulting, VARs, retail, financial, media and communications, showcasing the multiple facets of his profile and roles, including taking the lead in small life cycle development projects.

Bill Petro

Bill Petro is a senior level IT technical consultant with significant management experience, primarily focused in Database architecture, infrastructure, and administration.  He has worked in large corporate, as well as, small entrepreneurial organizations during his over 20 year tenure in technology.  His industry experience includes Financial, Pharmaceutical, and Software focuses.  Bill has contributed in organizations where IT is the primary company business focus, including Oracle Corporation, as well as, where it is an operational function, at United Parcel Service and Merck Pharmaceutical.  His education includes a B.S. in Computer Engineering from University of South Florida, and a Masters in Technology Management from STEVENS Institute of Technology.

Bill’s current primary focus is achieving efficiency, resulting in cost savings, by architecting and implementing Database Private Cloud Infrastructure, using Linux based Virtualization Technologies.  These architectures improve upon bare-metal High Availability and Disaster Recovery capabilities, without the additional costs often associated with these features, while more effectively utilizing hardware resources.

Bob Barker

Bob’s IT experience dates back to 1982 where he started as a Cobol programmer.  In 1985 Bob began working as a mainframe DBA on a variety of Database Management Systems which included IDMS, DB2 and IMS, all running on IBM or IBM look alike hardware.  His UNIX experience began in 1995 when I was working as an independent contractor with a firm that had both Mainframe IDMS and Sybase 4.9x and 10.0. He continued working with Sybase software since that project, while also gaining experience working with all SQL Server releases dating back to SQL Server version 7.
