Allan has successfully served for more than 35 years in executive leadership roles at several high technology and healthcare firms, including Cisco Networks, SAP Sybase, Oracle and Hewlett Packard. At SAP Sybase, he was Vice President of North American Sales for 5 years, where he was responsible for driving license revenue. His past responsibilities have included Sales, Marketing and Finance roles.

“Allan is a seasoned sales professional who brings extensive industry knowledge and leadership skills,” says Peter Dobler, President of Dobler Consulting. “I have known him for over 10 years. He was the Vice President of Sales for Sybase when we worked together previously.  His successes  in our past endeavors together include the negotiation and close of an enterprise site license for Sybase. He is going to be the major force in creating and driving SAP Sybase license revenue for our company with Sybase products.”

Allan will leverage his background and experience by working with SAP Sybase’s current client base to create a business development program for SAP Sybase customers. His key responsibility includes working with SAP to develop new licensing business with SAP Sybase customers. He will be in charge of the development and execution of sales strategies to ensure the channel partner relationship flourishes, while servicing customers to meet their growing SAP Sybase needs. It will be a triple-play win for SAP, Dobler Consulting, and SAP Sybase customers.

Sybase IQ 16 Released

On February 17, 2013, SAP announced the availability of SAP Sybase IQ 16, the next generation of data analytics. Some of the exciting features of this release include:

• In-memory data processing for lightning-fast performance. Row-level versioning (RLV) is one of the key enhancements of Sybase IQ 16. To enable to support lightning fast DML processing in real-time, Sybase IQ 16 introduces the in-memory RLV data store. All DML events for RLV enabled tables will be first written to the RLV data store and then periodically merged into the IQ main store. This opens the door for real time updates during business hours, while overnight bulk loads bypass the RLV data store.
• Disk-based column store analytics, providing in-memory real-time analytics, for mixed workloads for large numbers of concurrent users. This capability opens new opportunities by adapting legacy infrastructure and new cutting-edge technology, while working faster and more securely.
• Affordable data warehouse solutions that include support of extreme data analytics for thousands of concurrent users.

Additional new features in SAP Sybase IQ also offer row-level versioning, portability of models with PMML, integration modes for Hadoop and MapReduce, and new data protection features.

Dobler Consulting, a Tampa, Florida-based provider of a full spectrum of database services, announces the first stage of completion of a large data warehouse for a major health care services provider in the Tampa Bay area. The data warehouse project was completed in a very short period of time.

A top level manager at the health care services provider explains his experience on the project:

“Dobler Consulting came in on literally less than 24 hours’ notice, guided the technical team, educated the business team, and developed a creative solution for the Executive team.”

The Dobler team worked with the Information Technology group at the provider to give the client several ways to analyze data for major decision-making. The data warehouse is designed to provide integration of data and business analytics to increase customer retention rates.

According to Dobler Consulting’s CEO Peter Dobler, the client gained several advantages when they installed the data warehouse:

1. They are fully informed about their customer retention base, having complete information about client preferences, cost factors, and other customer demographics.
2. They have both current and historical data, giving them valuable information to be proactive so that they can analyze, and predict if customers are more or less likely to leave.
3. The data is now available in different formats to filter and analyze so that it can be viewed from global, to national, to regional levels to keep customer retention high.
4. The data is available to the executive team for informed decision-making, with business dashboards and other high level summary data.

Once the data warehouse project was completed, we examined the long term benefits for our client. The health care provider gains improved performance on data queries, resulting in fast turnaround for decision-making for increased profitability. The provider found they can capitalize on their new technology by generating answers to become more competitive, better understand their customers’ needs, and be able to answer those needs. The data warehouse gives easy access to data, making it available to executives, managers, analysts, end users, and IT staff members for wide-spread use throughout their organization.

Going forward, our client will be able to use the business intelligence gleaned from the data warehouse, and apply the information to aid with financial management, inventory processing, sales, and marketing.
